WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT~~~~~~

I was reading through the "congratulations dork" comments on my last post....and a comment made by zenmomand Kristen got me to thinking.......

WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT if we had one of these for every day life!

I personally can think of quite a few times that I could have used one of these little gadgets.....

Like that time I saw this......Yeah it would have been just fine If I wasn't there to take this picture. And the time I did this..........(and we ain't talking about my adorable nephew either)
And the day I sold this.........
Now there are plenty of other times in my life I would have killed for that button....but most of them I don't have captured on film....thank the lord for small favors!

Don't we wish as a country we could have pressed that button ........

I'd hit the button...and hope it hurt like hell...then I'd hit it over and over and over and over.........
So many of these tragedies that we'd need a REALLY big button.

And then there are the times when the button hasn't been earned...but it really needs to be implemented anyway!

Do you think she even knows how BAD she needs the button?

I'm gonna hit the button on this one....then hit the designer in the head for good measure!!

I'd like to hit the button for this....and every other manly trend that involved lots of extra hair!

Ummmm I think we're gonna need a bunch of EXTRA buttons!!!!

Not too often she's gonna need the button.....but for sure she could have used it here!

AWWW the poor little lamb.....I'd like to hit the button for her...because I'm not sure she's rational enough to do it herself.

God bless em....I'm not sure the button is powerful enough for this!

Yeah...that was a great idea......

Alright people....don't all head for the button at the same time!!!! Form an organized line!!!!

You knew the dogs had to get in on this......

AND LAST

BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST.........

C'mon people you won.....you can at least have a sense of humor about it....I know I'm trying to laugh and not cry!

You've got some doozies there Nikki! Stiff upper lip, we will get through this. LOL Here's hoping things don't change too much. We made it through the Clinton years, we can make it through the Obama years too!

I can not believe how funny you are! I'm so glad I discovered your blog this week, especially since I'm looking for SOMEthing to make me laugh right now, rather than cry.

Good thing you don't have that damn button!!!!!! You would kill my sheer joy and happiness!!!Now you wouldn't want to go and do that now would you?????

Sorry you feel so horrible about Barack winning over Macain by sooooooo many states/votes... (oops... I got carried away....)

Seriously... things will get better my good Republican friends. It wont happen over night but it will happen. As hard as it is for you to believe... Obama is capable of running this country. He has the intelligence and the backing to start undoing some the damage that was left behind.

What ever happened to United We Stand????? I guess you dont want to take a stand... you'd rather just push that button of yours... go on... push it and kill my dreams... go on...

Nikki,
You and your wonderful humor was the medicine I needed to dry my tears tonight/morning.
I don't think any one has a button big enough to fix what just happened.
Thanks for making me smile! Okay, Thanks for making me really laugh out loud.
You truly are Heaven sent to brighten our world!

You have such a funny view in life, makes me laugh. I pray for our new president, he has a task that I don't think anyone has the answers to.I watched his speech last night and I truly believe he will be for all the people. Time will tell.

Thank you for the smile this morning.
No undo button here, but I'd imagine lots of people
on their knees praying today. That's all we can do - pray.
Some of the photos were funny, some were downright icky. LOL.

Nikki,I knew I could get up this morning turn on the computer and you would have something posted to make me laugh and get my day started. You never let me down girl!!! It's 4:35 a.m. and I'm supposed to be getting ready for work! But oh no, I have to see what Nikkicrumpets talkin' about. LOL!!! Gurl, I gotta go, there are people out there that are going to be expecting positively outstanding service from a grumpy stewardess this morning!! Dear God, please don't let me smack anyone today. LOL

Heather said...

My eyes hurt from some of those pictures, but even with repeatedly jabbing my computer screen, your button didn't seem to work.

And I was so hoping to undo the heaps of Halloween candy I've inhaled in the past several days... Phooey.

What? There is an *undo button* for all that Halloween candy? It's shaped like an elliptical machine at the gym? Gack! I wanted a nice, simple, round button I could press with one hand while reaching for the candy bowl with the other.........

Anyhow, as a commenter of dissenting political viewpoint, let me just say: We survived eight years of Dubya, and you will survive eight years of Obama. I feel for you - it's how I've felt for the past two election night morning afters!

Thanks for the laugh! I sure needed it this morning:)

Hi Nikki

This is going to be a time for America to rely on God and not the government. Shoulda been that way all along! And to all the Dem's who want us to be good sports. Thanks Nikki I think alot of us needed this post.

America has no idea what they just did. But they'll soon find out.

I am happy for a couple of things, racism...this should bring the country together as far as race. I am a bit weary of the race card being drawn. And secondly that Al Franken didn't get in.

Also let's see what the Donkeys can do ~ Clinton handed over a recession to Bush, without 9/11 now we have done the same, let's see how they handle things. Something tells me in 4 years we'll be voting the Asses I mean Donkeys out !!!

And of course I will support my Pres. cause it's the right thing to do, the Dems can't say the same unfortunately, they were as nasty to OUR Pres. as you can get.

Thanks again for this FUNNY post....

Thank you so much for voting for my twins sons pumpkin. We appreciate the support. Now Fern has to do a John McCain and congratulate the winner!! :O(

Good Morning Nikki,

Great post thanks for the laugh I need it.

Just got a renewal for my Livin magazine from Martha...I think I will write back... I can't renew cuz I am 'sucking it in" that's what she said on Fox that we should all do if Obama gets in, wonder how much sucking she'll do ?

Of course we SHOULD all come together for the good of our Nation, I am going to give Obama the same amount of respect the other side gave Bush !!!

Have a nice day,
Kathy :)

Hey Nikki,
You are just the cutest! Love you dearly, my donut toting friend and hope this doesn't change our bloggy friendship. This had me laughing and yes, of course I knew what the last one was going to be.
I can't stop liking you and your wacko jacko sense of humor just because you have a different opinion than I. That's what's so great about our country. We can agree to disagree.
Well, sorry your guy didn't win... He sure did a wonderful job on his speech last night. Very gracious. But I know I'm out numbered here!
All I can say is that Obama HAS to be an improvement over Bush. But we all have different perspectives and personal reasons for our choices. Hopefully, we can all get behind our new leader and find some common ground, stick together as a united nation.
Okay, you may go on with your crying jag now! You have a right to it! If you show up with a broken index finger, I'll know why.
Good try, girl!
Be good,

I agree with everyone of your undo's but the last one. I remember my sad and depressed day 4 years ago. Everything does happen for a reason. I could use an undo button this morning for getting peed on by the newborn, the 2 year old spilling the cereal and fighting with the 5 year old about what he was wearing to school. Man it's been a long day and it's only 10am!!

I'm glad you have a sense of humor, because lord knows I've had one for the past 8 years. :)

nikkicrumpet said...

Hey anonymous....yeah you...the one without the courage to stand by your opinions. If you actually READ the messages...most of them are saying that although they are not happy...they are going to support President Obama (ouch it hurt to type that!) and only want whats best for this great country. All that "HATING" that you speak of is not present here. So RELAX take one of your pills...and buy a sense of humor. It would be good for you to actually be able to laugh. Oh and next time earn some respect for yourself by actually having the backbone to use your real name!

You're a good sport with a great sense of humour, NC. I laughed, I cried, I actually cringed and said "ooooo" out loud in sympathy when I saw the car you sold. Wince. Sorry to bring that up again.

When you're done can I borrow your undo button? My oldest is my challenge in this life. I don't want to undo him just his attitude about politics!! It will be four years of pure you know what with Obama in office with my son Nicholas. He is so proud of voting for change and making history. He just can't believe that change isn't always good. I told him that there will be no more talk of politics in our house for quite some time!! Nicholas can be pretty ruthless and annoying and I thank my lucky stars he's getting married in May so I don't have to hear this on a daily basis after that!!! LOL!! Okay the engagement isn't official yet but she has her "patience" ring until they pay off the engagement/wedding rings. Lucky for me his fiance' Jill is more like us and not him!! LOL! Maybe you'll want that undo button to undo my waaaaay tooo looonng comment!! LOL! Smile and have a great day!

You made me laugh Nikki, but underneath it all I'm crying because...

Now, I get to worry about Rich losing his job with the military cut backs that are inevitable. Oh, but it'll make his job easier if he does keep it, because these people actually believe that we won't go to war anymore. News flash... Rich was in more wars under Clinton than he ever was under Bush... Operation Desert Fox, Operation Allied Force, and the Battle of Mogadishu in Somalia (Black Hawk Down) anyone? But that's okay because we won't be in Iraq anymore right? Don't bet the money we won't have anymore. Should I start writing checks now?

I loved what Carol wrote:

Anonymous said...

I just found your blog and loved your blog about the DELETE or UNDO button. Particularly the last UNDO about Obama! (If it was only that easy...) I plan to treat Obama the same way that Bush was treated the last four years! You can't have it both ways. You can't Bash Bush blaming him for everything that is happening in the world and then say we must now all come together in LOVE. And by the way I'm tired of people who label themselves with their race listed in front of American. Enough of that. I'm proud to be an American first NOT second!!!!

Can you people honestly tell me that Bush has done a good job the last 8 years? This is why people voted for Obama? It kinda makes me sad that people I've know on RMS and blogs I visit have such a skewed view on the state of our country. Honestly you have better decorating sense then Politics, so I think everyone should just stick to that! I am a little sick to hear about a recruiter losing his job as I was unaware that there will be a lack of need with my brother in law being sent to the hot zone in Afghanistan when he's never been a gun holder but a journalist who's about to fill the position of a bullet sponge, why don't you ask your recruiters what that is ladies! I'm hoping that Obama will be able to get him the hell out of there before he leaves behind two orphans. Stop whining about sending out checks, seriously is that all you people care about is your own stinking pocket books? We are all hurting financially as a country, but there are also a lot of bigger things to worry about. Sorry if this is one of the more negative posts but I really had more respect for some of you then that. What if things in our America get better now? Think about it... Stacey

So sorry that this funny post seemed to bring out some anonymous haters. I'm with you, use your real name if you have something to say to me. Email me if I missed something different about your broken heart bz I'd like to help if there's any way I can!

Sorry didn't mean to hit the button so hard, my hand must have slipped - I guess that can happen on just 4 hours of sleep.
I promise that if given the chance to ever be near one of those buttons to be more careful :)

Hey Stacey...First thankyou for having the courage to use your name. I was tired of the anonymous stuff. Secondly I don't think anyone said things were perfect. I think the fear is that it will get MUCH worse. I'm a little offended that you think we should all "stick to decorating" just because we don't agree with you. Just because we disagree doesn't mean that you're somehow smarter than I am. It simply means we disagree. I spent countless hours in the last months researching the things that both candidates voted for, and read as much as possible about who they were and what they stand for. So I think I'm more than entitled to my EDUCATED opinion. And I find it really sad that you would lose respect for all these wonderful ladies simply because they don't share your beliefs. I thought this was a FREE country and we were all allowed to have an opinion...guess not in your world huh? And finally...HELL YES I'm worried about my pocket book. I have a family to support and I work FREAKING DAMN HARD for my money. I am horrified that someone else thinks they have a right to take it from me and give it to someone who doesn't work at all!!! HOW DARE YOU assume for one second that you know better how to spend MY money. I gave SO much more to charity in the last 6 years than Obama did! And I don't make anywhere near as much as he does!!! But I CHOSE to do it...it wasn't taken from my pocket without my consent. When the man walks the walk...he will have earned my respect. So although I respect your right to make your comment...and I wouldn't think of deleting it. At least offer my other commenters the same right to voice THEIR opinion. WHEW I feel better now. Hypocrisy gives me a headache.

This is soooo funny! Thanks for the laughs! And yes I do wish I had an undo button for yesterday's outcome, but I'll support the rest of the country's decision. I just hope my perceptions are inacurate.

Hey everyone, give nikki and the rest of the disappointed Republicans a break! And seriously, however much education you've had, whether it be 'teensy' or tremendous, you are entitled to an opiinion, for hell sakes! And by the way, there is a big difference between being educated and being wise.

Thank you, Nikki, for your wisdom in having a sense of humor, not being afraid to share your opinions, for having a lovely family, adorable dogs, and being a fabulous decorator. And please, keep on using your freedom of speach, sister. That's how our founding fathers would want it!

I think Republicans and Democrats alike look forward to positive changes. Some of us might be crossing our fingers a little tighter, but we're all hoping for it! I voted McCain (gasp! I'll be watching for the daggers) but I have respect for the popular vote and the current President, even if I've got my fingers crossed behind my back.

If you'd like a copy of my resume, showing my double masters degree, then I'd be happy to send it your way. Also, my home decorating and cooking skills are kick ass, if you'd like pictures too.

A little respect, people, for your fellow Americans and the constitution, PLEASE!

Nikki- I salute your Humor and you HIT it well. I am so happy to see you stand on your ground. Keep it that way girl. I am on your side always. Keep blogging...

For Obama supporters - A little humor won't hurt Obama...it is the authors' opinion and we can't do nothing about it.

For McCain Supporters- Life must move on...let us respect the chosen president of the majority and hoping for the good outcome.

Change will only come if there is respect to each one of us. God bless everyone.

Well said TMI! Nikki's is entitled to post whatever tickles her fancy on her blog!
If you find this so offensive, just continue your celebrations elsewhere. Pretty simple eh!
Has anyone seen any posts supporting our new President where McCain supporters are bashing the blog owner about it? I certainly have not!
Enough said, Sheesh!

hello its me, I told Donna I was thinking of coming here raising a white flag, then said nah, I better not. Then... I see a comment from you at BJ's asking why so many nice comments to her and mean ones to you. Am I dillusional here or am I reading between the lines and you are talking about me and you really do like me and want to make amends for our past descretions. Our passions for our beliefs are the same so I don't know how you can hate me, but I think you get a little more emotional than I do (ha ha)! Anyway, break the news to me gently, then delete this if you must! Sue

Nikki thanks for the humorous blog post and for keeping your cool while voicing your opinions!

I didn't vote for Obama and I cried on election night, so I feel your pain.

(btw, both my husband and I are Republicans and we are both college graduates and very well informed)

With the current state of our country and faced with an uncertain future as we go forward with a new leader - I think it's more important than ever to keep a sense of humor and look for the good things in life. You do that well!

Don't let the thugs get you down! And I'm posting my name because I stand behind my words.

Have a great day!

Nikki, I've been reading some of the comments here, so thought what the "H" I am going to throw my two cents in. As a Canadian Citizen and your ally to the North I congratulate you on your new President 'elect'. With the downslide of the GLOBAL economy and the threat of Terrorism, leaders worldwide are facing many challenges. (Even if I was qualified, I would not want to even apply for the position of leading a country....smiles. Would you?)

For a gentleman that has been dubbed by the American media as 'the most powerful man in the world' (which he really isn't by the way, but that is another topic) I extend my best wishes to the American people for a strong and united Nation. GOD bless America and may you remain 'the land of opportunity and freedoms'. The world is watching.

First of all you have waaaay to much time on your hands! No wonder you think I never call! you are to busy blogging to hear the phone ring:)
Second you must have put out a craigslist add to invite all republicans to your blog...I can smell that you are from Utah all the way over here in Texas! By the way all of Austin is very happy about Obama...maybe its best if you don't know who I voted for:)
No matter what I still love you and even though I have known you my whole life you still make me laugh. You now have your daughter addicted to your blog. I can't help it you are just to damn funny!! Tell Daddy I said HI!

Dear Nikki,

Thanks for the blog I die laughing with it.

I am so glad that this is finally over.  I hope that our country can all come and stand together. We need to get our economy up and running again.  We have a lot of work to do and if we all step up and do our part, this country will be so much better to pass on to our children.

I think McCain's concession speech was gracious, and he was more like the McCain I know. I don't agree with him believing he failed because he didn't fail. Senator McCain conceded victory, and this war-hero whom almost half of America voted for has asked his supporters to do what they can to support President-elect Obama. Being disrespectful towards Barack Obama now would be disrespectful of the wishes of Senator John McCain, as stated in his concession speech.

The sun will still rise in the east tomorrow morning, this is not the end for America, it is merely a new beginning. Our country faces many challenges which will require cooperation between all Americans in order to overcome them. Partisan deadlocks, name-calling, and finger-pointing will not help to solve these problems.  We must all rise above our petty emotions, and not hate for hate's sake, or our country will surely fall into ruin.

Just as a house divided can not stand, neither can a country divided stand. It is our duty as a free people to come together and find some common ground from which we can create a better future, not only for all Americans, but for all mankind as well.

Hey Nikki I just read your previous post. I don't know how to add anyone to my blog list. when I need to add one I call my tech rep, Beverly at How Sweet the Sound. She is responsible for me blogging. She has been my friend for 38 years. I was computer illiterate when I started in May, 08. lol. What happened to you is why I do not want to know about it. It would be tragic. sigh. I have to say I am alot smarter now, thanks to her and my dh. He had to buy a new Apple laptop. Now we both are glued to our computers. Have mercy!!!

Thanks for your comment today. Life in the mountains is awesome in the fall. Have a nice evening.

Well, Nikki. The comment form your baby girl has me laughing so hard I spit iced tea all over my monitor...
Personally, I love a sense of humor and sweet lady, YOU have ne of the best. Just one of the reasons I love ya. There are many like you, dear ones who are disappointed with the election's outcome (BJ,Rue and some lovely others) who have been wonderful. Yes, they are sad about the results but love their country and intend to pray for our new president. THAT is the sort of person I can admire and adore.
I posted something yesterday and you can not imagine the nasty emails Ihave received. I deleted 3 comments that were pretty vile. *shiver*
And I never said who I voted for!
I just said let's come together as a nation, respect the office of the President and be proud we witnessed a huge moment in history.

Why there can not be rational and loving debate among people makes me crazy! Sheesh. Fols in DC will argue and blather at one another on Capitol Hill and then go out to dinner and laugh. It IS posible!!

YOU sweet lady are a hoot, a dear and a nut. I love nuts.

Love,
Sue

Wow Nikki, I just spent the last hour reading all the heated comments about the election. I have just one thing to say. Stacy, you better get up on the other side of the bed. Just an FYI I personally apologized to Nikki via email for my comment. I was irrationally upset with the outcome and in normal circumstances I would have NEVER let anyone know where I stood, but I lost my temper and I now apologize to all my RMS and blogging friends that I may have upset.

Oh and Stacey... Rich has fought for our country 5 times in 5 different wars and has been a "bullet sponge" as you called it. As far as recruiting, he was assigned that job as they all are and they are just putting willing people in the army. Recruiters have nothing to do with the changes that may happen job wise after they join. If anyone thinks that by joining a "safe" job in the army that they won't have to fight then they made the wrong choice. I pray that your brother comes home safe.

Nikki, I decided to come back and read through some of these comments. The ones that really got to me were the "Us republicans will give as much respect to the dems as you did during our administration". Ugh, that does not sound very American, very supportive, or very mature, does it?

All I want is for everyone to give this man a fighting chance before they start spouting doom and gloom. I know absolutely nothing about politics, government, war, etc. It's always all confused me. But what I do know is that our ELECTED president deserves our respect until/unless he shows us he doesn't deserve it. Clinton got more respect after creaming all over that girl's dress!

Justine :o )

OH OH I HOPE I GET SOMETHING GOOD FROM SANTA THIS YEAR! Jessica was a good girl:D hehehehehhe

I agree that we all need to pull together as good citizens. But, that is not something that should just be beginning because of a new administration. It should have been happening all along.

Whoever is president of our fine country is only one man. One man can not save or undo our country. The condition of our country now was not caused by one man.

We have to take as much responsibility as anyone. Let us put aside our differences, quit judging and fighting. If we really care about our country, we will all work together - Democrats, Republicans and everyone.

Mormons are so narrow minded and judgmental. I'm always amazed by it. Trust me, I know 'cause I come from a Mormon family. I never met a mormon who follows the commandment 'judge not lest ye be not judged' (you know which I mean). I think that's why I left the church, all the intolerance. Very UN-Christ like.

nikkicrumpet said...

Hey Lisa M

If you're referring to this post as being Un-Christ like...perhaps you should have read the last line....you know..."sense of humor". If you're simply referring to the fact that I am a Mormon. Well heck girl. I'd say you just judged every single Mormon the same exact way...hmmm odd sense you're trying to prove a point about not being judgemental. Isn't that like saying all Black people are alike, or all Hispanic or Gay people are alike. I for one have met a lot of Mormons who are exacly as you say...and Catholics, Jews, etc. I have also met MANY Mormons who are sweet, kind and generous to a fault...who love everyone no matter what their religious beliefs. I've only been blogging for a couple of months. But there is a large group of people that I have become friends with here...and most of them aren't Mormons, they come in all colors, religious beliefs, and sexual preferences....and I don't think they feel like I'm "judging" them at all. If they did I doubt they'd come back. So maybe before you "judge" an entire religion as being unworthy....maybe you should get out more and get a wider world view...I'm just sayin........

You have a wonderful sense of humor, but I was so thrilled about Barack winning. He has a lot of undoing after Bush and company. I work as an outreach worker with very low income families. When you really see poverty and despair in this country as I do, you know something needs to change.I can't begin to tell you how bad off some people really have it. I have families who are heating their homes with space heaters and nothing else in -10 degree weather. Very sad. Best Wishes, Cindy in cold and snowy Wisconsin
