WE'RE GOING FOR DONUTS!!!!

I woke up this morning and looked outside and my eyeballs almost started to bleed. Holy moley it looked almost NEON ! I don't know whether it was because the sun was shining so bright or because I hadn't taken all my meds...but boy did it sure look pretty. So I figured...hey why don't we all go out and enjoy all this amazing New England beauty! And since we'll already be in the truck...how about DONUTS! So everybody hop in the back of my pickup ....and off we'll go!

One note here that is very important. It really does look like this today! No digital trickery or color enhancement was used in any of these photos. However the photographer did use some enhancements....I stuck a couple socks in my bra and I'm sucking in my stomach like you wouldn't believe.

This is the road out in front of my house....PRETTY! (I probably should go outside more often)

WE HAVE ARRIVED. This is Randall Farms in Ludlow. They have all sorts of yummy stuff. Fresh local grown apples and veggies, home made ice cream, a deli, and a bakery. YUMMO!
But first we have to look around.....no food for you yet!

Check it out...the trees are just as pretty as the mums!
I want that wagon...I was trying to figure out how to casually take it down and stroll back to my truck with it. But this old lady carving pumpkins kept eyeing me like I was skeevy or something. Sheesh lady relax!
They had sparkle pumpkins.....
They had shiny pumpkins.....
they had skeeeeery pumpkins.....

hmmm...can anyone explain to me...what is Halloweeny about a dead fish?????

Oh look they copied you guys!!! But you all do it better!

And now the moment has arrived.....the reason that we just drove 30 miles. Our destination has been reached............

Hot, fresh....(I watched her take em out and roll em in a bed of cinnamon-sugary goodness......

DONUTS

I only got two so you're all gonna have to take LITTLE bites!

a quick stop at Mc D's for a cold coke...and home we go.

I knew there was something I liked about living in New England.

Oh, how beautiful. You are blessed. I grew up in New England and have been in Texas for almost 20 years. I love my life here, but I sure do miss FALL IN NEW ENGLAND! Thanks for sharing!

There is something about fall, all the beautiful colors and the nice crisp days and warm sunshine. The yummy apples (and donuts, of course). If you can get your hands on a Honey Crisp apple - go for it! They were developed by the University of Minnesota and they are delicious! (Not as in the mushy thick skinned overdyed red apples.) ~ Robyn

OK now I am totally convinced I have to go there. Being a huge fan of Stephen King his books always described this place as lovely as I see it here! Oh and since I am one of the first I am taking a HUGE bite out of that donut! Yummy! French;)

Oh my goodness that is GORGEOUS! and my bite of donut was SO GOOD thanks! The trees haven't quite started turning here in OK due to it being like 80 degrees outside! So, you could say I'm a bit jealous!

Great pictures! I've been driving around with my camera too. I just want to capture all of this beauty before it falls to the ground.

By the way, is that farm close enough for me to got to?

Oh am I in time for a bite of the donut?. Nikki, I had heard that New England was beautiful but now I know for sure, it is breathtakingly beautiful, those colours are amazing, how wonderful to see that every day. Kathy.

No way. Just no way. That is the most beautiful donut ride I have ever ever seen. Magazine worthy. You are a very lucky person to enjoy such beauty at this time of year. I love the vividness of it. On the water too. And that place is so cute too. Oh invite me :)

I have always wanted to visit New England, and your pictures give me a thousand more reasons to do it! BTW thanks so much for the pictures of doughnuts, now I'm craving them!! Guess what we're having for breakfast tomorrow?

Beauty at its best. Just one more reason I love fall. I love taking a drive and looking at the trees as much as some like driving and looking at Christmas decorations. Priceless beauty.

This probably sounds corny but thanks for sharing the photos, I miss the northeast at this time of year. We haven't had much rain here in the southeast and so the trees are not turning these brilliant colors. It really took me home.

Oh Nikki... I am so happy that you put in all these awesome pictures... How simply beautiful and I wish I was there with you too... I am thinking maybe I should just move up there with you... LOL LOL And isn't there just something about the donuts in New England... One of my fathers favorite things were little donut shops... He had a favorite in Cape Cod that he went to everyday when we spent the summers there...

Well I loved everything about your posts today.. sepecially Randall Farms ...

Hugs,
Donna

Nikki you did a marvelous job with those photos. It looks like it is near peak. We took a ride to Cashiers and Highland NC today, I took some photos and I'll post some tomorrow. But, it isn't near the peak here yet. We're going to Waynesville, NC next week to see the elk and I'm told that will be a beautiful ride. Being from Fl, where the leaves turn brown and drop off in April, I can't get enough of the colors.

Hugs,
Chris

Gorgeous Nikki! Now there are some incredible pictures!

For some reason I thought the color of the tree's looked exceptionally bright today and yesterday. I even saw a tree that had hot pink leaves all over it! How I hate to think that in a couple weeks or so it will all be over. At least we'll still have beautiful pictures to remember the color by!

Donuts ... mmmmm. They weren't by chance Cider donuts, were they? I loved the wagon display too!

Damn, woman! You have a fabulous husband, crazy talking dogs, a great sense of humour, and know I find out you live in this amazingly beautiful part of the world. Cut it out!

I've always wanted to visit New England. Now, I have four more reasons! To meet you (uh huh...be afraid, be very afraid), to talk with your dogs, clone your husband, and get some yummy donuts!

Suzann said...

I so love a road trip! I'm absolutely jealous of the amazing colors on your trees. Our trees here have done NOTHING. No colors, no leaves falling off, no pretty ooh and ahh at all! I am feeling completely ripped off about now.
Glad ya had fun. Now, breath and take those socks out of your bra. LOL.

And what is up with the dead fish? Kinda funky if ya ask me (and ya didn't)

enjoy those donuts for me!!

Darlene said...

WOW Nikki, it is GORGEOUS there!!! Absolutely stunning! That looks like the neatest place you took us for donuts too...I only took a tiny bite so we could all have one :)

Thanks for sharing your New England Fall!!!

That is what makes fall so wonderful! Look at all those beautiful colors! We are headed to our local pumpkin farm on Monday and they have apple donuts! I just love them, and we buy them by the dozen! I couldn't be satisfied with just two! Thank you for sharing this beauty of nature!

Oh Boy!! How beautiful are those pictures...You lucky thing you. I'm down here in Hell where it's still in the 80's...and what I would do for one of those donuts. Tell me it was an apple cider donut...I know it had to be an apple cider donut. Dunkin is the only donut we have down here...they consider it "gourmet".

Nikki: I just LOVE visiting your blog sooooo much. I've been so very busy working on stuff for my sale that I haven't had time to read your last couple of postings. But, oh how much fun it was to spend a few moments catching up this a.m.. Your fall photos are just breathtaking!! Our KC trees are just starting to turn, but they will not hold a candle to your N. Eng. beauties. Randalls looks like so much fun! Those donuts would certainly be worth the 30 mile drive. I loved your last photos of N.York---how lucky you are to have such a great family! Also, I must join the list of adoring blog fans----you are just a gift to all of us. You are so funny and yet so insightful and smart (yeah, I said smart!). Thank you for spending the time to share your life tid bits with us.
Now, I gotta go unload the van---the sale was OK (the economy has certainly affected the buying). I am pooped (but I get pooped easy since I'm old---er) and I have 3 more sales before the first weekend in Dec.. It's my busy time!
Have a great week and pat those sweet pooches for me! Dana

Stunning! And Yes, jealous!!!!! AGAIN.
We were so hoping to take in some of the beauty this past 11 days but the gorgeous color hasn't quite reached the Great Common Wealth yet. Then we come home just in time to get SNOW right along with your kids? Are they here in Utah going to school?
I thought about YOU (and Kathie Lee Gifford LOL) when my hubby pointed out CN as we landed at JFK.
Hopefully we will find the beautiful mountains of Park City all adorned this week.
I enjoyed the beautiful and fun pictures very much Nikki! Your humor never ceases to crack me up.

Morning Nikki! I AM SOOOO HOMESICK NOW!!!!! We drove around Sun up into the mountains and the trees are just starting but they are never as pretty as NE. The colors are more dull gold/browns very little reds/orange and hardly ever vivid! I demanded we take a trip home in Sept. next year; you just can't beat a New England Fall and the many farmstands!!! Gorgeous pictures! Have a great day - Sincerely, Jeannette

I'd say I'm "Green with Envy" ~ but considering the fall colors, that wouldn't be appropriate. OHHH, I DO wish we had Fall like that in New Orleans.
