!! L@@K OUT NEW YORK !!

Day three of our Wild all night party vacation!!! Woo Hoo. Ok the reality is I got us lost in Vermont coming home from Niagra falls...yeah I'm a dork...that is not a news flash. So we got home kinda late...good thing we ate on the road...because the only thing in my pantry is an old box of stale Cheerios...I know...I'm a Phenomenal Hostess (why do you think I got us lost...guess who ain't cookin this trip!)

I wake up early Saturday morning...thinking I'll roust these old women out of bed and get their butts a movin. Much to my chagrin they are all up, dressed, and munching Cheerios. Oh well time to hit the road and see the BIG CITY! Now I know what you're thinking....Is she actually going to drive into Manhattan! Wow she is a brave, intelligent, and an amazing woman. (that was what you were thinking right?) Well you'd be WRONG....ain't no way in hades I'm driving in New York City. I drove to New Bedford Connecticut and we caught the Metro

I love trains...they never get lost! And they always find a great place to park!

So here we are in GRAND CENTRAL STATION.....hehe, heck if that ain't one lost looking group.!! I'm laffin because they actually trust me to take them around New York. You'd think they'd be smarter than that !

I do however, know how to hail a cab. I'm actually very good at it. I think it has something to do with that flappy arm fat thing. The cabbies see that wobbly floppy fat rotating a mile a minute and it reminds them of their old third grade teacher and they feel guilty and pull over.

We arrive in Times Square at the awesome Crowne Plaza hotel. It is my favorite place to stay in New York...simply because it is the only hotel I know how to find. They were doing some reconstruction but the rooms looked fairly nice.

I had to take a picture out of the window. Yippee look at that bustling metropolis just bursting in anticipation of amusing us out-of-towners!

Now that our lodging is secure...its off to the tour bus. Now if you've never taken one of these buses in New York I highly recommend them. You can get to every spot in New York and hop on and off for 2 glorious days! And the guides tell you lots of useless stuff you didn't know!

This is my SIL's head...she's taking pictures of the Empire State building...our destination tomorrow...

And this is one of the photos she took....see the difference in the quality of the image...that's because she actually knows how to use a camera....me I just push alot of buttons until I see a flash!

Rockefeller Center......

St. Patricks Cathedral...holy moley it is awesome!

We couldn't get good pictures inside because there was actually somebody getting married...can you imagine how cool it would be to be married in a place like this...but also pretty freaky having all sorts of tourist riff raff watching your special day. Me thinks the bride was a richy bitchy Diva who enjoyed the attention....or maybe I'm just JEALOUS that she has a Gazillionaire for a daddy!

On to Macy's....ladies...hold on to your britches...this is ONE MILLION SQUARE FEET OF SHOPPING NIRVANA! That's right....one full city block and 8 floors of anything your heart desires....interesting fact. Macy's started out as a store that sold cows....seriously

HAH my favorite part of the day. We went to ground zero and the loonies were trying to recruit my mom....it almost worked...until she found out she didn't get to wear a cool uniform. Hey if a hat and matching purse doesn't come with the job...FORGET IT!

We had lunch in Greenwich Village....I feel so BoHo fabulous just saying that. And we got to see all the cool sights. Then because we are all-night kinda gals...we took the night tour to BROOKLYN!

OH LOOK...IT'S PARSON...I know you can barely read the sign...but it's Parson's where they work out the cool designs on Project Runway! MY FAV SHOW!!

Off to bed for us...big day tomorrow......but if you're wondering if we made an impact on New York ....well....my Mom must have....she tends to make friends wherever we go. (close your eyes dad!) Check out my mom's new boy toy........AND notice his tattoo!

Yup.....Momma done Ruled NEW YORK!

I can't show this to my daughter. We would have to go tomorrow if I did. How fun. Glad you could share what you saw with us. I loved all the yellow taxi's. It is the site I envision the most there. That ground zero sign made me sad. I thought that wouldn't still be going on. Nonsense.

Oh and after looking around your cool blog, would you by chance happen to have the link on how to "Gollumize" my pictures via photoshop. I know you can do it in Photobucket but I prefer to keep my photo's on my computer. If you could let me know I would love it!!

I have been living under a rock but it's seems to be pretty heavy as I can't find the link on her blog. Darn rock..... It's in the way I can't see!

Ms. Nikki you are nuts - the arm thing has had me laughing so hard I needed to take a break! I was pushed off the exit into Manhattan by a tractor trailor so I know driving there is just nuts! I asked the toll guy if there was any way to turn around and he replied "lady you in Manhattan!" dah Remember I told you last week it cost me $7.50 to pee! Driving and nearly wetting my pants was the only thing I remember about Manhattan! Looks like you had a much better time! (sorry if I shared too much!)lol Have a great night - Sincerely, Jeannette

Your trip brings back such great memories of the trip my two buddies and I took to NY a few years ago. I still flip through my photo album of it--and tear up over the photos I have of the twin towers. :(

We took one of those tours you referred to and it was terrific. We took the uptown-downtown-Ellis Island tour. I loved every danged minute we spent there---we stayed 3 days and 3 nights and were in the Marriot Marques(sp) in Times Square. We saw three shows, took the tour and walked our buns off. One meal was at Tavern on the Green and it was fabulous. I would LOVE to go again.
It was so much fun to see this trip through your photos and funny text! I'll bet your mom and SIL's loved every minute, too!

Love,

He he...hey Nikki. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I was purposely vague in my post because the situation deals with work and I'm completely paranoid about posting anything work related. Unless it has to deal with gross people brushing their teeth while peeing. Then I have no reservations.

Have a great night :o)

Oh, I am so JEALOUS!!! NYC is my favorite destination! St. Patrick's is an amazing church, isn't it? Just beautiful! My husband went through NY last month, driving a full-size pick-up truck, pulling a 35 foot trailor, loaded with an antique tractor and parts, in downtown Manhatten!!! That is one time I was glad I wasn't with him! My nerves couldn't have taken it! LOLOL! ~Rhonda :)

Hi Nikki. I'll be satisfied with just looking at pictures of NY. The cathedral is beautiful. The only part of NY I would ever want to physically see would be Ground Zero. The crouds, traffic, crime and overall insanity don't appeal to me at all. I'll just enjoy other people's pictures.
