~SHOCKED~PROUD~and a wee bit scared.......

I am the proud and lucky mom of 3 amazing kids...and one wonderful daughter in law. And most days I feel blessed.....Some days....I feel just a tiny bit afraid. Today was one of those days.

I get a call from my middle daughter Lindsey, who lives in Texas. She has been visiting my blog for a couple of months now....and seems to enjoy it. But I NEVER expected in a million years that I would ever hear her say....."Mom I have a blog" .

After the shock wore off....I developed a small case of hives. Small being a relative term based on proportion to my body mass. Actually the hives would have covered most of Rhode Island. So with much trepidation I entered the URL and took my first peek at her brand spankin new blog. I encourage my children to develop their talents...really I do....but after watching the hilarious blog wars between Justine & Jill...I'm not sure I want to have all of my secrets revealed by my daughter. I kind of like only telling you guys the stuff I WANT you to know about me.

But alas those days might be over......if this artistic display is any indication....

So with GREAT fear and reluctance....I'd love for you all to hop over to Lindsey's blog....."At least my dog thinks I'm interesting" And tell her "HI" and "Welcome to blogland....now be nice to your mother". She would be thrilled to have the company.

And remember my dear daughter......Mommy knows where you live..........And hiding is NOT an option.

And on the next post I'll show you my other daughters new website.....

I totally understand the fear factor of it. That is too funny. I would write out an agreement right now and have you all sign it. There has to be boundaries. But then again, we might really enjoy all the stuff we will read. Hee hee.

Like real life People Magazine :)

I'm so grateful I don't have to worry about this....yet!

Eeek!

I can't wait to check out her blog!

It's like on Friends, when Monica and Chandler tell the whole world the awful secrets about each other. Yikes! Good luck, my friend!

I was going along all oblivious and minding my own business and all, when suddenly I clicked on Nikki's blog and then . . . WHAM! I was informed my children could get their own blogs too, and then they'd tell all these secrets about me and speak of me in cranky terms and rag on my foibles and how horrid a mother I was and then the world would think . . . and I'd lose readers and friends and . . .

Okay, maybe not that bad, but if your daughters can do it, mine can. Damn! Please don't tell them, okay?

And now I will straighten myself up and go warn your daughter to be nice to you. ;)

God help me if Annie ever starts a blog.... yikes LOL

My SIL is the only other person in my family to have a blog, but my MIL actually comments regularly, and has said that she wants to start one, as has my dad.

My dad is probably the most conservative family member in both our families, and I always wonder if he dies a bit inside, reading my blog.

He also works in the IT department at BYU as one of the head IT guys, and his best friend is the guy who does the censoring of sites there. I keep waiting for the day when my blog is blocked at BYU.

I was just in, blowdrying my hair, and all of a sudden out loud I said, "Ross!" Duh. I meant Monica and Ross, not Monica and Chandler. Sheesh.

My daughter had a blog for a while too. I loved reading what was going on in her life (and she always said the sweetest things about us). I'm sure Lindsey will be complimentary...and funny as hell!
I'm heading to work now, but I will check it out when I get home!
Have a wonderful weekend Nikki~

I'm heading right over. Sounds like she's a chip off the ole block though...you may want to go buy yourself a pair of those glasses with the mustache attached.

I know your kids are some of your biggest fans of your blog and since you are such a great mom, Lindsay will only have good things to tell about you...and if not, cut her out of the will. (just kidding).
I will hop right over to welcome her.

I would be nervous too, lol! No one in my family knows about my blog. I think I might have a heart attack if one someone mentions this funny little website called "Mommy from the Midwest" lol!
Headed to see her now :-)

I was a little nervous when my middle daughter started her blog too, for that same reason. But so far, she's been kind. Could be that's cuz she still lives under my roof!!

I totally understand your feelings here, Nik. Mr FF has a blog but I'm not allowed to mention it or refer to it and he wants to be anonymous. If it was left to me I would tell the world who he was.

Anyway - I bet Lindsey's blog will be (almost) as fantastic as yours

The only "bad" thing I did to my mom was post a picture of her in her 1988 high school reunion dress. It was 80's-tastic!

I understand your fear....if any of my family started a blog, I'd be worried.

Not cuz I lie but cuz I don't say certain things for some reasons.

Especially my sister. If she got one, all the dirty laundry would come out, I'm sure.

Thank goodness, I had to bookmark my site and that's all see knows!

LOL!!!!

Becky said...

Nope. This is not a possibility. This cannot. willnot ever happen to me.

Can it?

Oh shit.

Welcome Lindsey!

Now Nikki! We all know that anything she could possibly say bad about you would be a total fabrication! I'm off to see!!!!!

girl...I understand...I am terrified that my sister will get a blog....she is not afraid to kill me via embarassment!
on my way to plead your case....

CB said...

Really fun! I will check out her blog.
I understand your fear. My married daughter has started a blog also and you just never know what might pop up. She spend about 5 days at my house going through old pictures and laughing at a bunch of me with old hairstyles. I have no idea what she scanned and kept - Hhhmmm I am a little worried about what might show up!
Have a GREAT day!

Great disguise. :) I won't even tell my daughter how to find my blog. I get enough yelling as it is. Some nut case is going to track me down ...HA!!
I think she still sees me the way I looked when she was four...and every single one of them threatens me within an inch of my life if I show their picture on here...so..you can plainly see why I don't let them know how to find me. :) I will hop right over and welcome this..sweet young thing in...disguise?

I think that is wonderful. At least now you will have an inkling as to what is going into your biography. :)

Tried to comment on Lindsey's blog to welcome her but I was unable to. Maybe it is sooo busy! I am now a follower, though!

Peace - Rene

Welcome to family blogging NikkiCrumpet! Both my daughters have a blog and I'm living through it! LOL

Actually they are the reason I started blogging and it has been terrific.

Lindsey's only going to tell us what she wants us to know as well!!! Now, that could be scary for you!

OK Nikki, am I just totally computer challenged (well, don't answer that) but every where I see Linday's name - it doesn't link me to her blog. so-----what's up. I was up until 2:30 a.m. so maybe my brain is fried.
