[][] ARE THEY COOL OR WHAT? [][]

*** If wrinkles must be written upon our brows, let them not be written upon the heart. The spirit should never grow old.***James Garfield

Let me proudly introduce you to the two coolest people I know. These road warriors are both in their 70's. And they haven't slowed down for one second in the last 70 + years. They are the best parents on the planet. And just ask their grandchildren what they think, and you'll be blown away by the outpouring of love and admiration. But out of all the wonderful things they've taught me over the years...I think the one I most cherish now is the lesson I'm learning from watching them live life to the fullest in their golden years.

Keep on Biking mom & dad!

WE LOVE YOU!

Nikki, I adore your parents. They not only act young, they look young. Being young when you are getting older is a matter of attitude. They have attitude and I think that is great. My parents died before they reached old age. We loved them like you love yours. I miss them so much.

Love your post and I want to thank you for your sweet comments and visits to my post. We just came home after being gone five days. boy, do I have some catching up to do.

Take care, Jeanne

Love the photos of your parents! You are lucky to have them and I'm sure they feel the same about you.

Sorry I'm late in posting the following, but I'm just now catching up on stuff from the weekend -

First of all you have my dream job! I would love to go out and look at other people's houses all day and I LOVE designing kithens (in my head)! How did you become a kitchen designer - if I'm not being too nosy, and if you don't mind sharing?

Secondly - please don't second guess your choices in your bedroom! It is a BEAUTIFUL, peaceful, PERFECTLY LOVELY, perfect room! I'm sure we all know that lots of people on RMS have NO sense of style. And not every design appeals to everyone, but most people with a sense of style know a beautiful room when they see it, even if it's not their "style" - and your room is beautiful. Why some people feel the need to say something ugly is beyond me, but I don't think it should make you question any of your choices - the room is perfect!
although I have just found your blog I'm looking forward to reading it regularly - thanks again!
Karin
p.s. I recently posted my bedroom on RMS and although the notes posted were all pretty nice and the ratings were decent (last time I lloked, anyway-lol)hardly anybody even looked at it - so I wonder what that says??

Linda/Mom...my parents live in Arizona just like you! ... well not just like you...if they lived in a house half as gorgeous as yours I'd move in with them lol..but they live in Yuma Arizona and LOVE IT!

Karin: Thanks for the sweet comments...I'm glad RMS was kinder to you. As for my job, I will admit I lucked into it. I started working for A high end Custom Cabinet shop as their Tax Accountant...When I wasn't busy I assistant one of the cabinet salesman doing drawings and estimating...one thing led to another and after a few years they paid for me to get the training I needed and the qualifications I needed to take the test for my CKD. And I do feel lucky to be designing kitchens all these years later. It's not always fun...but it's generally interesting.

Nikki, I just scrolled down to see your master bedroom! It's gorgeous girl...don't doubt yourself a minute on that. I got on RMS once when it first started & decided I didn't need that negativity in my life either, so I never went back. Don't plan to either. Blogging with like minded people is a lot more fun than all the rats over there who want to "pee in your cheerios" as my hubby likes to say! I'm glad you are blogging too. I love your style.

I'm jealous of your gene pool...your parents don't look anything close to their age. Good for them for staying so active.

And what a bike!

Hi,
Thanks for the comments on my blog. I hope you will do the tag with us. It's a lot of fun. Charli is a little girl. My son originally got her and named her Charli. We didn't have the heart to change it. She's such a little nervous nilly.

Morning Nikki! Wow your parents are giving everyone including me a wake up call!!! I want to be a "cool" chick instead of "an old biddie!" I guess they don't give aging a second glance!!! Have a great day - Sincerely, Jeannette

Nikki, what an inspiration your mom and dad are. How wonderful that they are enjoying life to the fullest at this time in their lives.

And what a blessing for you to know they are happy and healthy and doing what they want to do.

Best wishes to them for "happy trails!"

This is so amazing! I love the fact that these are your parents and that they are loving life! My neighbor celebrated his 50th birthday and bought a Harley and he and his wife joined a motorcycle club. They moved a couple of years ago but we still keep in touch and they're always on the road on the weekend! I can't even begin to tell you the places they've travelled on vacation. That's the way to live, doing what you love! What a lucky woman you are to have such an example for you and your kids!

They are BEYOND cool. :o)Are you sure they are in their 70's?? My dad used to race motorcycles years and years ago...he had to give up riding. He has Parkinson's and things are getting harder for him these days. Love this post!

Oh my gosh, my Mom is exactly the same. She's in her late 70's, still works as a Registered Nurse, and travels the world. She's hard to keep up with and nearly impossible to catch at home.

BTW, I notice you like quotes. I unofficially collect quotes and love a good, thought provoking one. You've inspired me to post them from time to time and share the wisdom with others.

Blessings,
Carolynn
