a YAY! a big hairy ARRRGHH and a YAY!

YAY....guest room #2 is done and ready to receive my visitors. Vacuumed , dusted, put the ironed sheets on the bed, and added some chocolate on the bedside table. Now I only have 5000 more things to do before they get here. For those of you from RMS ... I know I know...you've seen this room before. Sorry to be so boring.

ARGGGH...This whole "finish the bath" thing has spun out of control! I came up with what I thought was a brilliant idea for a "faux shower curtain" ...but lets just say there's a hitch-in-it's-get-along. When my hubby gets home and sees all the holes I made in the sheetrock....he's gonna put a hole in my head!! Hopefully everything will be resolved tomorrow, if he lets me live, (pray for me)... and I'll be able to show ya how it looks. I was able to finish a CHEAP wall decor project for the bath. I can't remember whose beautiful blog I stole this idea from (I'm old what can I say). But she has these WONDERFUL pictures of vintage bathing beauties in her heading. I fell head over heels in love with them....but I'm too cheap to buy the real thing. So I did the next best (free) thing. I printed out some pictures from my computer...mounted them to scrapbook paper...and TADA...cheap art. Here's a peek at the ONLY part of that room that worked out for me today.

And the final YAY...Justine from Justine's Froggy Bloggy gave me this really cool award. I was so tickled to get it. You have to go over to Justine's blog...she is so funny and so real! She tells it like it is and it's always fun to visit there.
I really appreciate the award Justine...thanks again!

Your room is beautiful! Can I check in after your mom and guests leave??? Love your bathing beauty pics! I did some similar in our lake house redo, but I only had two that came out of a magazine! They were from a free beach magazine. The only cost I had in them, was the black frames from Big Lots. ...and I get more compliments on them than anything in the entire house! LOL! Hope you will post pictures of your bathroom treatments...if you live that is! LOL! I face those moments too! LOL! ~Rhonda :)

Morning Nikki! I nearly choked on my breakfast laughing at your comment on my "doodad"! I'll be chuckling all day cuz that's my kind of humor!!!!Your nuts! I will never get tired of looking at this guest room cuz its gorgeous much like all your rooms. As far as wholes in the wall remove any picture in my home and you will find (not kidding) at least 10 holes. You should have seen the look on my husbands face when we moved!!lol I said I wouldn't do that here but.....Have a great day - Jeannette

I don't hang out on RMS all the time, so I have not seen your gorgeous room. I love everything about this, esp. that toile bedding with the yummy monograms. And the green walls, just fantastic. You have such great taste! I have that same black/white harlequin plate above your bed.

And how brilliant is the bathing beauties artwork. Love that idea!

I never get tired of seeing your home. It's decorated so divine! I don't even have a guest room, good thing no one comes to see me! When my son-in-law stayed here for a couple of weeks before they were married (he couldn't get in his apartment right away) he stayed in Travis' bedroom. Poor Travis got the couch or recliner during that time! Congrats on the award too.

Ginny said...

Ok, So I guess i missed RMS, so tell me how you did the headboard on guestroom #2. Also, I would like to find those bathing beauties. Maybe a quick lesson on how you did those pictures also?
Loved the room!

I just have to say, I could NEVER tire of looking at the pics of this bedroom. I drooled many hours over this room at RMS. It is beautiful. Hope everything goes well with the spare bathroom!

Nikki, you are way too kind with your praise. I just have these random thoughts and have to let them out sometimes! Now if only I could get you to fly out here and help me decorate my home! I made my headboard last fall but it doesn't look anything like your nice ones. You do that extra something that makes them look so nice. I'm doing something different in my laundry room too but I'm not sure if it's going to come out like I envision it. I'll post it when I'm all done but I'm thinking about sending some pictures and getting your's and Rhonda's input on what I'm trying to do. Would you mind if I emailed you some pictures in a few days? I truly do love your decorating style!

You have a pool in the background of your banner and you can only afford to print pictures from online for art work? Lady you need a life.

nikkicrumpet said...

LOL Anomymous It's not what you can "afford"...it's what you're willing to spend. And I like my cheap art...it makes me feel good and it makes me happy. Is there a problem with that?
