@]@ Wild women and Butterflies @]@

Day two of our girls gone wild vacation....

We headed out to the party hardy place called "The butterfly conservatory". It's actually a really cool spot. It is surrounded by a gazillion miles of gorgeous gardens...well they would have been but it was the wrong time of the year...so we skipped them and went into the conservatory.

Now my SIL's were thinking it was a place with a bunch of butterflies pinned to some styrofoam...and you just looked at dead bugs. They were thinking I was bat crap crazy and not the best tour guide in the world....but oh much to their surprise!

This place has some of the most amazing plants you'll ever see....exotic Tropical plants and stuff that doesn't even look real. And it's FILLED WITH BUTTERFLIES...the little critters are flying EVERYWHERE!

click to enlarge some of these...it's like the plants were growing butterflies!

So now who's the greatest tour guide in the universe.....that would be ME! Do I know how to show people a good time or what?

After cooling off from our vigorous butterfly extravaganza...we headed back to the good old US of A.....only after my mom totally flirted with the hottie at the boarder crossing booth. He wanted her passport...not her phone number...sheeesh mom! ( dad...I embellished that for blog reasons...you understand)

After checking out the American side...and YES Canada...YOU RULE the falls for sure. We headed back to Massachusetts....we needed to get a good night sleep...for tomorrow.......

LOOK OUT NEW YORK CITY!!!!

And look...two great blog awards from the coolest people!

Cindy at "just another day in paradise" gave me a GOLD CARD! THANKS CINDY! I've had the pleasure to get to know Cindy over the last 2 months and I must say she is one very special person! Smart, funny, and she does the most thought provoking posts...plus she has an adorable Grandbaby...go check her out!

And Lisa at "lisa's spot" gave me this award If you haven't visited Lisa's blog then you really need to. She has the most amazing pictures of the cutest raccoons who visit her house. And she takes the most amazing photos of the beautiful scenery! And...she's an amazing person too...THATS alot of AMAZING!!

Hey Nikki...Great photos...we have actually been there about 8 years ago..if I remember correctly, it smelled like fruit in there because they had pieces of fruit out for the butterflies to eat? I can't wait to see what mischief you party girls get into in NYC..

Great pictures Nikki, I've been there, it was a field trip for my daughters K class. The kids had a ball, one butterfly landed on one of the kids shoulders and would not leave. I thought for sure the kid would freak but she actually loved it.

Thanks for the memory,
Kathy ;)

That one butterfly looks like it has eyes on it's wings! This looks incredible and you're right a couple of the plants don't look real. Glad it wasn't just dead bugs stuck on plants bz you may have had a mutiny on your hands, LOL! One thing, are you SURE the border guard wasn't flirting with mom?! Some men like their women older! LOL!

I wouldn't have wanted to leave butterfly heaven. I visited a similar spot in Arizona that was filled with hummingbirds. 'nuff said!

Okay...I'm a teensy bit confused over here....you completely scoured your home, repainted & decorated your guest bathroom because you & your guests were all LEAVING the house to go on vacation...?

That conservatory was awesome! So beautiful! We took our girls to a butterfly green house once and they all kept landing on my daughter's shoes because they had fake flowers on them.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I can't believe you never heard of that syndrome before. I just added the lamp commercial to my blog. It's less than a minute long if you've never seen it before... I think it's when I realized I wasn't the only one that did that! lol.

They had a butterfly house at the Six Flags we went to in Cali this summer, and I was shocked by how warm it was inside there.

Thanks for leaving a comment on my SITS day!

Hi Nikki,
Congratulations on your awards! Your butterfly photos were absolutely amazing! Sooo beautiful. We have a butterfly house at our zoo and it's so much fun to go there. I really enjoyed reading your post and looking at all of your lovely pictures.

Hi Nikki, Looks like fun was had by all. Your sisters pictures are amazing. Our St. Paul Como Park Zoo has a beautiful conservatory and it is loaded with butterflies, too. The zoo has a fun activity for kids this time of year called The Zoo Boo. Volunteers dress up as zoo animals and are scattered throughout the zoo doing tricks and passing out treats. It is so cute. Jacob really enjoyed it when he was a much younger boy. Now he is too cool for it. ~ Robyn
