**WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES**

About 10 minutes from my home is a little town called Brimfield. Now when you first drive into this town you are sure to do a double take...it's just very very odd.

Everywhere you look are these large open grassy spots...like big green parking lots...I'm sure people drive through all the time and wonder...WHAT THE HECK?

But about 3 or 4 times a year.......THIS---TURNS IN TO THIS---
AND THIS-----

LOOKS LIKE THIS----

MOST DAYS.....A FEW WEEKS OUT OF THE YEAR...
WELL, YOU GET THE IDEA

There are literally thousands...yes thousands of tents and booths to buy antiques and other goodies. People come from all over New England to shop during these few weeks a year. For me the prices seem a bit steep...unless you go on the last day when they start slashing prices so they don't have to haul the stuff home. Sadly this year I can't go on Sunday so I refrained from buying anything. But I sure had a great time looking! Next year....I say ya'll come out here and we go SHOPPING TOGETHER!!

Call me a meanie all you like...but with your absolutely MOST beautiful bedroom EVER...you are a MUCH bigger meanie! I just know it 'cause my jealous alter ego says so! LOLOL! ...Thanks for the super kind compliments, excluding the meanie part, on my Fall post! LOL! And oh well, I can put on my big girl pants and take the meanie comment, too! LOL! You just crack me up! ~Rhonda :)

The town you pictured looks a lot like Hillsville, Va. They turn the whole little town into a big flea market like this one on labor day weekend too! I love going, but it is about 6 hours away, so we only venture up there every few years!

Wow, that's amazing! I'd love to go there just for the experience. I probably wouldn't buy anything cuz I'm just too cheap, I mean frugal.

Oh shopping with you would be a blast, especially if we can talk politics!! How in the world did I miss your post on Wed. YOU GO GIRL! I am right there with you. IT's UNBELIEVABLE!! When I saw the mag covers, I was shocked that this could be acceptable in our country. And to the comment about the down's baby - wow. Wouldn't they be surprised to find out that my brother and wife who already have a gazzilion of kids are in the process of adopting a Down's baby from Equador. Yep - their CHOICE!! Meet them for a day and you will wonder why they didn't have 10 more kids.
Ok, I better walk away from your blog...I can't even read your 69 comments because I am afraid I will get too riled up. Are they good? Then I'll come back and read them - after I have had my morning coffee and calmed down...hee heee

I'll start saving my pennies to make the trip, too. For some reason, I thought you lived in the South, then when I saw your post today about Brimfield--a show I've always wanted to attend--I read your bio and saw you are a Mass resident! That place looks like so much fun--especially on price slashing day! I believe a "Bloggers Buying at Brimfield Day" sounds wonderful.

Great post and response yesterday!

You live that close to Brimfield???? NO WAY! I went for a day back in 2002. I was living in Newport, RI at the time and there was NO way I was going to miss that! Don't be surprised if you get a whole lot of bloggers taking you up on your offer next year. :o)

I seriously wish we had something this large near us! Although with my "cheapness" I probably wouldn't buy anything if the prices were too steap. It looks like fun though. SIGH, I miss the days before my knees gave out when I could walk and shop all day! Those were good times with my kids. Oh well, new knees after Travis' mission is over in 2-1/2 to 3 years!

Oh my what fun. I so wished we ha places like that here. I love walking around and looking. Id give up a meal or two and walk until my legs fell off.
I know when we went to see my son in NJ they have this every weekend. I bought so much they would carry to the suv an by time they walked back I had them another load hehe.
Love shopping and digging.

That looks so tempting! What a fun place-when it is full of tents, that is. All signs are pointing to MA these days. I might just have to visit. I haven't been back since my mission and my hubby said the other night...maybe we should plan a trip to MA next year. I almost fell out of my seat! We'll find out how serious he is-i told him I would love that. I, of course, would let you know if we do. Because, I am sure you want to know! I wonder if one of those statues would fit in my carry on? haha!

I just read your comment at Becca's and had to laugh. My husband is a USU fan, Travis loves BYU (plans to go to BYU Idaho after his mission), Nicholas roots for The U, and I went to BYU so we have quite the time of it when collegiate sports start! You made me want to run out and get some candles!! I forgot about the new fall scents they have. I need some more cinnamon and gingerbread!! Hey it beats cooking to make the house smell yummy!

Morning, Nikki! Oh, thanks for popping in to see my Fallen ways again! Can't help myself. It's hot outside, but I want to feel some Fall indoors and that is where I'm staying! Thanks for your kind words.

Hey Nikki,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a sweet comment about the room, and me. :)
Scott, my partner, was adopted by a family in Boston, well right outside of Boston in a snobby little community called Wayland, and his father taught aerospace electronics at MIT, also developed a targetry system for fighter jets in the US Military along with a colleague - anyway, impressive history (not an impressive man). His mother's uncle, however - possibly great uncle, was Gordon Reid who had been coined as the person who started Brimfield. Anyway, sorry for the blog within a blog - just interesting history I thought I'd share. I was really hoping to make it there this year - maybe next, and if I do, I'll definitely expect to share a funnel cake with you!

I've always wanted to go to Brimfield having read about it for years. I'm envious you live so close. I've traveled to Round Top, Texas and to Kane County Flea Market in Illinois - they are pretty big antique markets, but don't think they compare to Brimfield! Sally

What a sweet place to find great finds! I doubt they would let me bring them home on a plane though lol
I understand the Sunday thing! Hopefully next year you can find yourself atreat or two.

Nikki, I have been to Brimfield many times with my sisters. Caralie, Diane and myself. We went there to buy for our antique business. It's a small world. Great post. I am retired but my sisters still have their business in Atlanta. Bluebird Antiques.

Wow, you are going to NY. I am excited for you. They are lucky to have a tour guide. smile. Have a wonderful time.

Hugs, Jeanne

I've never been to Brimfield but it is on my list of places to go next year when I retire. I'm sure for you it is like living near the beach. After a while you just don't go. Now I do know where some of your fabulous finds in your lovely home may have come from. Let me know about next year and I'll be there.

That looks like so much fun! You would have to pull me away from the tent with the stained glass! I love that picture of Crumpet on your side bar. I want to take him home. Charli can't decide who she likes better, Crumpet or Oz LOL

Hey girl! Thanks so much for your sweet comment. See the truth is that for years, I couldn't spend for the big stuff so I got all the little things. Now that I can have the big pieces, I already have the details covered! It worked out well and I didn't even realize it!

Another good day for floating in your pool!! After tomorrow, it will be filled with leaves!
