I love you Jared-bearad-wear-and-tear.....Lindser-binzer-bonzei-buns....and Lacey-lubbers-mommas-ma-goobers! You guys are my world! ......Now GO CLEAN YOUR ROOMS!
And although I only gave birth to three of them....I'm taking credit for Jessica too. She may be my daughter-in-law...but she is the kind of lady any mother would be PROUD to call her own!
This came from an email so I don't know who did it or who to give credit to...whoever is responsible Kudos to you!
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO PLAN TO BE GREAT MOMS.....THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE GREAT MOMS......FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE GREAT MOMS....AND FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAD GREAT MOMS....THIS IS FOR YOU
Real Mothers don't eat quiche; they don't have time to make it.
Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils are probably in the sandbox.
Real Mothers often have sticky floors, filthy ovens and happy kids.
Real Mothers know that dried play dough doesn't come out of shag carpets.
Real Mothers don't want to know what the vacuum just sucked up.
Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?' and get their answer when a little voice says, 'Because I love you best.
Real Mothers know that a child's growth is not measured by height or years or grade... It is marked by the progression of Mama ...to Mommy... to Mom
At 4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mommy can do anything!
At 8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
At 12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom doesn't really know quite everything.
At 14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally, Mom doesn't know that, either.
At 16 YEARS OF AGE - Mom? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.
At 18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!
At 25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it.
At 35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.
At 45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
At 65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!
I only hope that I have been and can be half the mom that my mother has been to me. I feel truly blessed to have learned from the best!

Oh, what a wonderful post! I think I may shed a tear on this one! :) Your children are beautiful! ...all "four!" (God may give us a certain number, but He can certainly bless us with many more down the road!) Great post! ~Rhonda :-)
AMEN!!
Your kiddos are a fine looking bunch - now we need one with you mixed in!!
Love this post!
Nikki sweetie you have some adorable kids, the pic of them as children is just too precious! You done well girl!
At times I ask 'why me?' but the hugs and kisses are indeed just rewards.
Have a great weekend!
Lovely! I have seen this before in an email. It was nice to see it again and realize how lucky I am to still have my mom and how lucky my kids are to still have me from afar(they live out of state). I remember when my son used to say "No PDA" (public displays of affection)if I should try to give him a hug. Now that his is grown up, PDA is okay with him.
Awwwww. beautiful Nikki just beautiful. Kathy.
Oh what a great post !!! I am copying that and sending it to my kids :)
What a lovely family you have.
Kathy :)
Loved this post and how true~~~~French;)
Let me dab the tears from my eyes, Nikki, you have the cutest family! Robyn
Well, I must say, Nikki, my friend...I always knew there was a serious side to you! Your children are just beautiful...and all this talk about not knowing how to cook nor clean...I've thought, when I see you say those things, "How can you raise 3 kids and not know how to cook!!" lol
Thanks for sharing your beautiful family....
bj
I'm looking forward to that 25-35 phase! I have more than one teenage moment to trade in. I have enough that I should be able to get a fancy car!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful family with us!
Hugs, Bridget
Good grief...here I come to leave a comment about talking about your back over at Bella's blog give away post, and you have to go be all serious and sentimental on us.
Well, I did you know..talk about you... and just wanted to be up front about it in case you heard about it from someone else.
P.S. If I give you an award, will you go post it on here and then say something all nice about me? hee hee
Thank you for this post! If I was "that" kind of person, I would send this to my birth mother who left me playing in the dirt at 4 years old to be with "the man of her dreams" and then never came back for me. I'd send this whole post to her if I thought it would make her understand she can't come back now and call my children her grandchildren. Thank you, thank you! A mother is much more than the one who gave birth to you. She's the one who teaches you, inspires you, and loves you the MOSTEST! This is what I needed today...THANK YOU, Nikki! you SAID IT
I'm giving you a golf clap right now and if I could reach you...I'd give you a big ol hug and kiss on the cheek girl...beautiful post...just beautiful...now where is that kleenex box!
Your children are beautiful...then and now...I envy you that you have them...Lovely post... ;-) Bo

Lots of truth to it.
Diane
That was a really lovely post, Nikki.
BTW, this is the first time I've been able to access the comments since you 'got back', although I've been visiting you every day.
What a lovely post. Your children so adorable. You know I've always said that if a woman can take care of a home, and her children, she is capable of doing anything. I like what you said about your mom. So sweet :>)
Hi Nikki,

Nikki,
You have an adorable family! What an incredible job you did raising them as a single mom. I loved the message and feel the same as my wonderful inlaws. I am so excited about our upcoming wedding to welcome my fourth daughter. Your post reminded me of one of my favorite posts by one of my favorite women.
"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Your mom is very lucky to have you as her daughter as your kids are to have you as their wonderful mom!

Nikki...thanks for stopping by and saying hi. Your children are beautiful. You look like you have a wonderful family. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Nikki, I swear this post made me cry. Your children are so beautiful and adorable when they were little as well. I have five of the most wonderful children and I can feel your every thought about raising the most wonderful adult children. As moms we can thank God for being so blessed. The part about giving anything to talk to my mom again just got me. I feel like my mom was a wonder of love and raising us to be the best that we can be and having love of our fellowman. Also, for us to be responsible for our own happiness. She always told us we can never expect someone else to makes us happy. The choice is in our heart. Wow, I didn't mean to carry on so. Your post really touched my heart this morning.
Thank you for a beautiful post...Jeanne
Awwww that is beautiful. Your kids are beautiful. Looks like you have many reasons to be a proud Mom.
Hugs,
Chris
Beautiful post, Nikki ... and beautiful children. I'm sure they know they are very blessed to have a mom like you.

The best job in the world is being a mom and it's the one job you never retire from. Love it. You have a beautiful family.
Hi, Nikki!
Ever since I first saw their photos in your sidebar, I've thought your children are absolutely beautiful. And I can tell by how you speak of them that they're very lucky to have a mom like you. :)
Love your blog!!!
Paulette
I recently recieved this email too and a few years ago, before kids I would of still thought my mom didn't know everything, but with 2 boys and another boy on the way my mom is now my best friend who I call for everything.

kyley
I love the saying on real moms. Your kids are obviously a great joy in your life and I'm glad that you shared more them with us! Isn't it great when they become more than just our kids but also our friends?! What a plus to have a daughter-in-law that you love so much too! She's a very lucky young woman. You have an awesome family and your love for them shines through. Do you have any of them left at home now or are they all on their own? Just curious. Next May if everyone's plans work out I'll only have Kaje' and my husband at home. I DO NOT look forward to that day! I have a feeling I'll be a bad empty nester when that day arrives too!
Your family is lovely-I also liked the mom stuff-so true! Your kids are so grown up-I can't believe how time will fly for all of us with little kids...
Your dog is a cutie too!
Beautiful, beautiful post. You are right to be so proud of your lovely family. And amen to the last part of the post!
Hi Nikki, What a wonderful post! You have beautiful children! I know you are proud of them! I love the MOM post too! Nancy
This was truly a moving post... Your childern are beautiful in youth and all grown up... and the poem... how true it is... Motherhood is an expierience you hold close to your heart.. and the good times outweigh the bad by a million to one.. I miss my kids being little.. they grew up just to darn fast.. but they are beautiful adults too... and now have given me another set of little ones to cherish...
HUGS,
Donna
You have a beautiful family!
That was such a sweet post---I'm dabbing the tears from my crooked old fingers as I type away! Yes, our babes did grow up so fast---I can hardly look at their photos from early days--it was all such a blur and I truly did not appreciate how amazing that time was!! I have read that tribute to moms before, Nikki, and I loved it this time just as much. You are so lucky to still have your mom---cuz it stinks where ther're gone! Oh, gads, I've gotta go do something fun---gotta get myself snapped out of this weepy mood. I could take a brisk walk on this beautiful fall afternoon, or I could bake something fattening, or I could help my hubby mow the yard. Nope, I think I'll just take a little snooze. That'll make me fell lots better. Dana
PS---I really did love this sweet post! You done good.
I didn't realize you disigned kitchens! That's great!
I'm back! And what a great post to come back to. You have a beautiful family and they are just as lucky to have a mom like you!
Thank you so much for visiting me and if I had known you were coming, I would have written something nicer about the dogs. heh. I LOVE your blog and we have a lot in common(minus the love for our dogs). I love the way you decorate and will be back!!!!

Your kids were precious and look like GREAT adults! And that thing at the end about Moms--almost brought tears to my eyes about my own mother. Great post!
I tell my son all the time that no matter how old he gets he will still be my BABY!!
I still think we need to fix him up with one of your beautiful daughters :)
He will be 20 in about a month....cant believe it!! How old are your children?

Nikki,
Your kids are beautiful. It's crazy how fast they grow up. My youngest is already 6 and I'm looking into some sort of surgery to freeze his age. I can't take it. ;-)

As the mother of two teenagers (and one precious 7 year old) it's tough being the idiot all the time. I am anxious for being smart again. LOL.
